Upon completion, students will be able to:
- Apply ethical, legal, and regulatory standards to the release of health information.
- Evaluate the validity of requests and determine the appropriate data to release.
- Apply department management roles and responsibilities, as well as operational functions.
- Define requestor types such as Treatment, payment, operations (TPO), and requests that require or do not require an authorization.
- Apply communication techniques in customer service for patients and the public.
- Identify emerging topics and best practices for protecting personal health information.
